A curated collection of projects that kept me up past my bedtime (in a good way).
Pre-production visualization work helping a design studio communicate bold spatial ideas before a single wall goes up.
30-second animated social video for a PPS bond campaign. I designed a cast of animal kids and tried to make decades of deferred school repairs feel urgent but still fun. As a PPS alum with a kid on the way, I had skin in the game.
3D garden visualizations composited into live footage for a YouTube series about unconventional gardening in difficult places. Wildfire recovery, Florida bioswales, and the eternal question of what this will all look like in five years.
A fully measured 3D reconstruction of Conde McCullough's Depression-era masterpiece - built from satellite data, point clouds, and zero original schematics. Oregon bridges, represented.
Cartographic motion graphics for the show that makes everyone reconsider their zip code. Ongoing - because apparently people never stop moving abroad.
Punchy launch video graphics to bring a boardgame Kickstarter video to life. Goal: Make investors say "shut up and take my money."
Motion graphics for electoral campaigns - because democracy deserves good kerning too. Fast turnarounds, high stakes, surprisingly enjoyable.
Diagetic animation for this televised short. I got to use AI to make a lot of fun of YouTube thumbnails, and I'd do it again.
Making voting systems legible to actual humans. Turns out motion design is democracy's secret weapon. Who knew good governance could look this good?
Ongoing motion graphics for financial storytelling - translating the language of markets into something humans actually want to watch. Recurring engagement, zero complaints.
Broadcast graphics for History Channel's investigation series. Helped render the unexplained look appropriately unexplainable. I want to believe (in animated maps, that is).
Motion graphics for a healthcare initiative that genuinely matters. Complex subject, clean execution, and the kind of work that makes you feel good about your career choices.
Motion and graphic design for an important documentary. Work that demanded intention and care - and a reminder that design can do real things in the world.
Data visualization and motion graphics for environmental storytelling. Making carbon numbers feel urgent instead of abstract. The planet sends its thanks.
Brand motion and product visualization for a civic tech startup. Software that helps governments run better. Concerned citizens, your fears are now allayed.
A motion designer who takes the work seriously,
but not himself.
Hey, I'm Dashiell. I'm a motion and graphic designer based in Portland, Oregon, with 12+ years of making things move in media, entertainment, and beyond.
My work spans broadcast television, explainer videos, brand animation, environmental graphics, and data visualization. I've designed court graphics for state and federal cases, mapped hundreds of international house hunts on HGTV, and occasionally helped make the democratic process look presentable.
I operate as All Clear Graphics LLC, a one-person studio with a thing for clean design, tight deadlines, and projects that actually mean something. If you've got an idea that needs to move, I'd love to hear it.
Let's work together
Broadcast package, explainer video, or a brand that needs a heartbeat?
I'm all ears (and After Effects).
